Painting 4 and the last one of the 2025 series is finally started. I had to really feel this one out…. on how to go about it…because I was changing inside as I was about to start it. This series represents a living moment kind of expression, an evolution of this year. So the authenticity of the piece had to align before I could start! Frustrating … but patience is important because I have to paint from within now.

This will be my only figurative in the series and yes it’s a self portrait of my inner child finally free. I can’t wait to share it with you by end of year or maybe sooner… as this landscape is a bit more simplistic than Vereingung painting which took 3 full months. 😳 and I’m still adding to that one.

Talking about this 36x36 oil painting I’m working on of birds, flowers, and a lot of energy layered through. The layering of light is what takes the longest so that certain objects glow in the moonlight.

The effect of illumination through oil is why I paint with oil. You cannot get that with acrylic paint and I have to add the light through my work or it lacks my emotionally energy with it. A painting to me is a living object, layered in story, symbolism and expression… and should allow my viewers eyes to wander throughout finding surprises along the way.
