Artist Bio
Jessica Bernert
Jessica Bernert is a Pacific Northwest oil painter whose work explores transformation, connection, and the spiritual undercurrents of nature. Through expressive brushwork, layered symbolism, and a bold, emotional palette, her paintings act as visual narratives — often featuring birds, botanicals, and landscape elements drawn from Oregon’s rivers, forests, and skies.
Based in Portland, Oregon, Jessica creates from her home studio and draws inspiration from both personal experience and ancestral lineage — blending feminine energy, memory, and emotional depth into each canvas. Her current body of work, the Awakenings series, invites viewers into a world of metamorphosis and meaning, using light and form as a language for healing and rediscovery.
More than a medium, painting is her way of living — a practice of witnessing, honoring, and shaping the cycles of life through color and canvas.
Jessica is a multi-disciplinary creative with a 25-year career in brand design (Pail Design) and a lifelong commitment to storytelling through image, emotion, and environment. Her work is available as original paintings and limited-edition prints, and she will be exhibiting at Portland Open Studios, October 2025.
