Embracing Change: My Artistic Journey Through a Year of Growth

A Year of Artistic Exploration

As an artist, exploring new avenues is essential. This year, I didn't plan on creating a year-long series, but it evolved naturally. Each piece reflects my journey, growth, and the changes in my life.

Spring Awakening: Emergence

The first painting I created this Spring was inspired by the new light, blooming flowers, and the rebirth of the season. I felt a connection to the awakening around me. My first piece, Emergence, embodies this feeling of renewal.

Nature's Symphony: Come Find Me

As Memorial Day approached, I painted another floral piece featuring birds. This work, titled Come Find Me, showcases a designed layout of elements from my environment: bluebirds, blooming petals, and buzzing bees. Nature's world opened up more fully, and I felt a desire to step back into life after a period of healing. This piece took about a month to paint, plus additional time for drying and refinement.

A Love Story: Vereingung

Then, I met my love, and our relationship blossomed beautifully. My next painting tells our story through symbols from nature. Each element represents a different aspect of our lives merging together. This piece, called Vereingung, is German for "unification," reflecting both my heritage and his. Creating it took three months of diligent problem-solving, and it is still drying as I write this!

Anticipation for the Final Piece

My final piece of the series will conclude this year's journey. I am currently in the early stages of concept and sketching, with plans to start in October.

The Value of Thoughtful Creation

This body of work has been an interesting approach, one that I now value deeply. The pieces are of higher quality due to the thoughtfulness and time I invested in their development. They are not just artworks; they are stories. This series parallels my life in 2025, and I will cherish it as a documented journey in an artistic and visual way.
